Sponsored Walk

Anne Ellis & family are doing a sponsored walk on 17th September, in aid of abandoned babies and children in China. Cultural and political pressures can result in baby girls and disabled children being abandoned; the ‘lucky’ ones end up in orphanages. Charities are working hard to improve conditions in orphanages across China but there is much to do. If you would like to help, please consider sponsoring the walkers or have a look at these websites to find out more about this desperate situation. Anything you are able to give will make a difference. Many thanks.

  1. Thanks Jenny.
There is further video footage of life inside an orphanage but it is very distressing in parts. Go to http://vimeo.com/22033263
If anyone would like further information about the walk or Chinese orphanages, please call or email me.

  2. Many thanks to the kind people at St Clare’s who agreed to sponsor our family effort.
I will be happy to collect any monies this weekend. (24/25 Sept) Thank you.

  3. Thank you to the kind parishioners who sponsored me £70, which contributed to a total amount of £725.00. Thanks also to St Anthony’s parish and BT employees who were extremely generous.

  4. This is a heart touching cause. Children are God’s gifts to us. By improving the quality of life of children, especially orphaned children, can give a renewed sense of Hope.
