envelope after Mass this weekend and bring back with your donation next weekend.
Lenten boxes also available today if you have decided to “give something up for

Lent” and want to donate what you save to CAFOD? The theme for Lent this year is
water and the fact that for millions of people this is still a daily worry as they
struggle to find water for their families needs. *******Great news: This Lent, UK
Government will match £1 for £1 every donation made to CAFOD so whatever we
donate will effectively be doubled!

kind of prayer (contemplative, at the end of the day, the Psalms, Celtic Spirituality,
and paintings in prayer.) which will then be practiced. On Palm Sunday there will be
a shared service at 6.30pm in Saltney Methodist Church. The Walk of Witness will
start from St Mark’s at 1145am after an all age service at 1030am followed by Hot
Cross Buns. All welcome to some or all the activities.

(659434) by 5th April, otherwise it will be assumed you have paid sufficient income
tax for the Parish to reclaim Gift Aid on donations made in the tax year.

PROGRAM FOR LENT: there will be a LITURGY MEETING in the parish
room after Mass on Tuesday 21st to discuss the liturgy during Lent. Come and learn
how YOU and the whole parish could be preparing for the celebration of Easter. All
are welcome, not just „Readers‟. New ideas for a better celebration will be quite
welcome.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Each Friday during Lent, starting on Friday 21st at
7.30pm there will be Stations in the church.

MASSES: there will be masses Thursday mornings by 9.30am and Friday
evenings by 7pm (just before Stations of the Cross). This is to provide more
opportunities for reflection during the week in this all important season. It is hoped
that there will be people attending. If not I will fall back to private masses in the
presbytery rather than heating up the whole Church just for myself alone. If there are volunteers to help set up as usual, that will be very much appreciated.

INTEGRATING LIFE & FAITH. Would you welcome an opportunity to deepen your
appreciation of God‟s presence in your everyday life: at home, at work, in your
neighbourhood? Then Integrating Life and Faith may be right for you. At the heart of this course is the belief that God is as much to be found in our relationships, our families, our homes, our places of work and the events of everyday life as in prayer, in Scripture and in the Sacraments. This course runs at Loyola Hall, Prescot over four weekends in 2012. To find out more: listen to people who‟ve done the course on YouTube  http://youtu.be/jDqnag52CuA come to an information evening: Thursday 1 March, 7.30 – 8.45, St Wilfrid’s Parish Centre, Witton Street, Northwich CW9 5NP or Thursday 8 March 7.30 – 8.45 at Westleigh, St Vincent’s, Groby Road, Altrincham WA14 2BQ or contact Joan Sharples (01270 620584) or Mary Kilcoyne (0151 650 2137).

“CAFOD’S LENTEN APPEAL: “Thirst for Change” focuses on water and
sanitation; Did you know that one in eight people around the world don’t have access
to safe water, or that every 20 seconds a child dies from diseases caused by dirty
water and poor sanitation? In the coming weeks CAFOD will be offering us a
number of different ways in which we can support this appeal through our prayers, donations and actions so please look out for these and help to make a real difference.

This Lent we have a wonderful opportunity to reach many more communities and to achieve even more through our support for CAFOD as the UK Government is
supporting us by matching pound for pound all donations made to this Lenten
appeal.”

HEATING: Oh that!!! We have managed to get 6 working with another two that are
quite temperamental. So we can say happy fault to the damage of last two weeks that
helped us regain the use of more units. The asbestos company has accepted the
responsibility for the damage and are taking up the bills for the repair and the
temporary heating we have had since then.
