FR MARTIN’S NEXT ANNUAL HOLIDAY: Welcome back Father. We hope
you have lots of happy memories to sustain you over the many months until your
next annual holiday.

OPEN PARISH MEETING: At the last parish council, a proposal was made for
open parish meeting/s in the coming year. Please let us know your opinion on this
please. How often will you like such meetings to be held, and what time of the year?
Any particular items for the agenda? Send your feedbacks in writing please to Fr
Martin through the presbytery door. The parish council will look at your feedbacks
in the next meeting and come to a conclusion.

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR SICK: Bernie Ashcroft, Michael Ashcroft, Margaret
Borrows, Kathy Bratherton nee Rush, Phil Buckley, Joan Bullough, Helen Creaney,
Emmanuelle, Erica Finn, Mary Frain, Eileen Green, Kath Heffernan, Hanna Jones,
Alan Joinson, Ann Leach, Sandra Lenel, Win Littler, Monica Mannion, Anita
Martin, Mary McDonough, Ann O’Gorman, Mark Patavino, Andrew Prendergast,
Rosemary Prendergast, Vera Rattigan, Elizabeth Shaw, Peggy Shone, Eve Stanton,
Freda Tyldesley and Martin Walter.

PRIMARY SCHOOL QUIZ NIGHT: the annual PTA Quiz Night will take place
on Friday, 24th February in the School Hall starting at 7.00pm. Tickets £5 per person
includes refreshments and the first drink. There will be a licensed bar. Teams of a
maximum of 6 are expected. Tickets may be obtained from the school office.

FIRST COMMUNION ENROLMENT: on 5 February 2012 those children being
prepared for 1st Communion will be enrolled during Mass in Church.

DIOCESAN MASS: A Diocesan Celebration of Married Life will be held in St
Wilfrid’s Parish Church, Witton Street, Northwich, CW9 5NP, on Saturday 11th
February 2012. Bishop Mark Davies will celebrate Mass at 2.00 pm and married
couples will be invited to renew their vows to each other. All married couples and
their families and those couples who are preparing for the sacrament of marriage are
welcome. This year we especially invite those couples celebrating a significant
anniversary. Also welcome are those who are widowed and of course, anyone else
who wishes to attend. Refreshments will be provided afterwards in the parish centre

The dates for the annual pilgrimage are:
Tuesday 24th July to Wednesday 1st August 2012 overland and
Wednesday 25th July to Tuesday 31st July 2012 by air.
Preparations for the pilgrimage are well underway but, given the continuing
fluctuation of the value of the euro against the pound sterling, we shall delay
publishing our prices until the end of February so that we may hopefully be able to
offer the best possible prices. We anticipate that despite a slight rise in hotel costs
and increased costs of the train and coaches, prices for the overland section will be
broadly the same as last year. There may be an increase for the air section as only
two dioceses will be using the plane in sequence this year instead of three as last

In the meantime, anyone wishing to reserve a seat on the plane may send their £100
deposit to the Pilgrimage Office, St Peters, 16 Green Lane, Hazel Grove,
STOCKPORT SK74EA. A brochure and booking form will be sent as soon as they
become available. If those who have paid deposits decide not to proceed after our
prices are finalised their deposit will be fully refunded.

Quiz Night – A Quiz Night will be held at 7.30 pm for 8 pm start, Friday 3,
February in Main School Hall. Tickets £4 in advance (£5 on the night), available
from the School Cash Office, telephone 01244 981600, Sixth Form & Adults.
